About Emily Kershenbaum

Emily Kershenbaum is an Associate Attorney at Apricity Law, PC, where her practice focuses on real estate, land use, and environmental matters across Northern California. She advises property owners, developers, and public entities on permitting, regulatory compliance, conservation easements, and land transactions—with a thoughtful and practical approach rooted in years of experience in both law and public service.

Prior to joining Apricity Law, Emily worked with the California Department of Justice, the California Tahoe Conservancy, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Office of General Counsel. Her work supported a wide range of issues, including CEQA litigation, administrative proceedings, and natural resource management. She also served as a judicial extern for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

Emily earned her J.D., cum laude, from SMU Dedman School of Law, where she received multiple Dean’s List honors and was recognized for her legal writing and commitment to public interest work. Before entering law, she worked for several years with the National Park Service, developing long-range planning tools, NEPA compliance strategies, and community engagement frameworks as an Outdoor Recreation Planner.

Emily holds dual master’s degrees in Public Health and Public Administration from the University of Colorado, and a B.S. in Nutrition from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She lives in Truckee with her husband and daughter and enjoys hiking, skiing, gardening, and attending community events.
